'Makes Me Wonder', Maroon 5 (Rock Analysis)

The Rock music video I choose to analyse is none other than Maroon 5's smash hit song, 'Makes Me Wonder'. When doing some research into Maroon 5, I found that they categorise their unique sound as Rock/Pop. I chose to analyse this as a Rock music video as the varied sounds within their songs change between the two genres and this song, in my opinion, falls under 'Rock'.

Maroon 5's music video features a variety of locations, all linked with an Airport which the whole narrative of their storyline, due to the song lyrics relating to his decision to stay or not. Locations such as;

* Terminal
* Travelator
* Airport entrance
* In the Air
* The Aeroplane
* Security check-in

All of these locations are shot at a fast pace to correspond with the timing of the music, as if the pace of shots were relaxed and slow, then it would not make sense to the audience and not make sense to the story line, or even the style of genre that Maroon 5 are classified in.

Within this short extract of the music video, the audience, notices Adam Levine being searched by two very skinny, attractive females. The way this then links to being more of a Rock music video to a Pop, is conventionally Rock is all about getting women and having the falling at the rock bands feet. There is a slight alteration here as the women are not so much falling at their feet as they are using their sexuality to 'hypnotize' him.
